a chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries

Welcome to ALLUNY!

Since 1954 the Association of Law Libraries of Upstate New York (ALLUNY) has been bringing together law library staff and people interested in law libraries from Upstate New York for professional development, networking, and social activities. ALLUNY is a Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), the national organization for law libraries.

ALLUNY strives to provide its membership with the highest opportunities for networking, information sharing, professional support and education. Benefits of membership include participation in ALLUNY meetings and workshops , the chapter listserv , the ALLUNY Newsletter , grant funding opportunities -- and fun !

ALLUNY members work in all aspects of law librarianship, including academic, court and firm libraries. Members live and work in major metropolitan areas and within rural communities. The professional expertise of the membership likewise encompasses all arenas, from reference to research, from technical services to administration. ALLUNY members teach and practice law and build library systems. Law and library science students are also a vibrant part of the ALLUNY community.

Membership and participation in ALLUNY is a great way for law librarians and other legal information professionals to maintain currency in and contribute to the profession. If you are already an ALLUNY member, you know that you are an intrinsic part of a valuable team. If you are not yet an ALLUNY member -- why wait?
